What he would tell him, if he could, I believe

"Words cannot express the grief that engulfs me. I, his father, can't even ruffle his hair, pinch his downy neck, or clasp his little body. But, I rejoice to see him live, move, laugh. That's what I call a fine day." -adapted from 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly'

Depart in Peace

Have you seen this man? He disappeared from our life years ago and recently, the one he became died. He was a man whom I once loved and loved still because he gave me a beautiful son. And so, we weep. For the loss of love. For the loss of a father. For the loss of one so in love with life. For the loss of hopes and dreams. For a death of one so young. And yet, we rejoice. For that beautiful boy. For a life well lived. For one who has been redeemed. For a lasting gift. For freedom.

Be at peace.

These Days

Came across this photo that Ethan took of me during these days of questions and waiting. Since April 16, we have spent almost 3000 minutes on the phone.

Wrap-Up

Our journey through Lent took an unexpected turn. However, through this dark time, we have seen God's hand guiding us through. As a wrap-up of Lent, I will post the last few photos I took. While I failed to take a daily self portrait, I found the exercise helpful. Through the process, I was reminded of how the Creator views us. The giving up of flour was a really great, challenging exercise. The daily flossing of teeth really paid off, and the practice continues. The daily Scripture reading provides refuge and hope.

Shine

Spring break occurred last week, and we received a huge snow storm. I was happy to have the chance to sled and ski once more, but am ready for the green grass and warm days of late spring. This time of the year, the sun is so glorious-- After the long winter, it seems to renew and revive everything in it's rays. Photos of week 3:
